In Bihar, the nomination process for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada and Jamui parliamentary constituencies ended on Thursday (28th March 2024). A total of 110 nomination papers filed in all four parliamentary constituencies. The Office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar informed that on the final day 27 nominations each from Nawada and Gaya parliamentary constituencies were filed. From Aurangabad 25 and from Jamui 21 candidates submitted their papers of nomination.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 30th March and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is 2nd April. Polling will be held on 19th April for this phase. Our correspondent reports that on the last day majority of candidates submitted their nomination papers. In the first phase BJP is contesting on two seats and Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) and Hindustani Awam Morcha have fielded candidates on one each seat. From the Grand Alliance opposition RJD is contesting on all four seats.

On the last day candidates from BJP, RJD, LJP (R), BSP and other parties filed their nomination papers. Former Chief Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha patron Jitan Ram Manjhi and his rival from RJD Kumar Sarvjeet filed nomination papers from Gaya parliamentary constituency. Vivek Thakur son of former Union Health Minister CP Thakur filed nomination papers from Nawada constituency as a BJP nominee. Former Director General of Health Services Dr. Jagdish Prasad submitted his papers from Jamui Lok Sabha seat. LJP (R) nominee Arun Bharti from Jamui, RJD candidates Archna Kumari Ravidas and Abhay Kumar Kushwaha from Jamui and Aurangabad constituencies are prominent candidates who filed their nominations for the first phase.
