In Bihar, Vijayadashmi the festival of triumph of good over evil is being celebrated with fervor and gaiety across the state. Before giving final adieu to Goddess Durga people are seeking blessings of Goddess marking the end nine day celebrations of Durga puja festival. Several immersion points or artificial ponds have been set up in cities along Ganga, Gandak, Kosi and other rivers for immersion of idols and avoid pollution. Shubh Vijaya or Vijaya Milan function being also organised at several places where people congregating and exchanging greetings on the occasion of Vijaydashmi.
In Bihar, stages are all set for the second main spectacular event of Dussehra, burning of effigies of Ravan and his family members organised by different Ramleela Committees at Patna, Muzaffarpur , Gaya, Bhagalpur and other cities. The popular Ravan Dahan event of Gandhi Maidan Patna will be organised this evening at historic ground. The 80 feet effigies of Ravan along with Kumbhkarn and Meghnad will be burnt with spectacular show in presence of hundreds of thousands of people. Prior to vibrant burning Ravan Dahan a roadshow will be organised in downtown Patna with artists clad in dresses of Lord Ram, Hanuman and others. A spectacular fireworks show will also be held with burning of effigies in open ground. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also attend the program. In view of huge gathering tight security arrangements have been made in Gandhi Maidan and surrounding area. A make shift police station has been set up and 128 CCTV have been installed for the mangement of the huge crowd.
