Bihar: 26,000 police officials trained for implementation of new criminal justice laws

In Bihar, so far, 26,000 police officials of the Investigation Officer (IO) category have been trained for the implementation of three new criminal justice laws- Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Sakhsya Adhiniyam (BSA). Senior Bihar Police Officer and Director of Bihar Police Academy Bhrigu Shrinivasan informed today that Bihar police is fully geared up to implement the three new laws which will bring radical changes in the criminal justice system. Mr. Shrinivasan addressing a day-long workshop organized by Press Information Bureau (PIB) Patna on the rollout of the three new laws said, that from the ASI rank to Deputy SP rank police personnel of Investigation Officer (IO) category have been trained on hybrid and other training modes.

 

The three new laws will come into effect from the 1st of July this year. Mr. Shrinivasan said that the three laws will bring transparency in the police system.
