In the Bengaluru Open tennis, unseeded Indian duo Siddhant Banthia and Parikshit Somani stormed into the men’s doubles semifinals with a dominant 7-5, 6-0 victory over Nicolas Mejia and Bernard Tomic. They will now face Australia’s Blake Bayldon and Matthew Christopher Romios for a spot in the final today.
Earlier, defending champions Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni advanced to the doubles semifinals after winning 6-3, 6-3 against Hynek Barton and Eric Vanshelboim. They will face the Indo-Taiwanese pair of Anirudh Chandrasekar and Ray Ho today for a place in the final.
In the men’s singles, no Indian player remains in contention.
