Benchmark equity indices plunged over one percent in today’s intra-day trade amid foreign fund outflows and largely weak Asian markets. BSE Sensex tanked 988 points or 1.15 percent to trade at 84,584 points, while NSE Nifty tumbled 294 points or 1.12 percent at 25,885 points, a short while ago.
In Asian Markets, Japan’s Nikkei index tanked over five per cent. South Korea’s Kospi also declined 1.68 percent. On the other hand, China’s Shanghai Composite soared over eight percent.
