Benchmark domestic equity indices ended with marginal losses of 0.2%

Benchmark domestic equity indices today ended with marginal losses of 0.2 percent. The broader market indices at the Bombay Stock Exchange outperformed the equity market. The Mid-Cap index added 0.32 percent and the Small-Cap index rose nearly half percent.

 

The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 201 points to close at 81,508 and the NSE Nifty-50 dipped 59 points to settle at 24,619. the rupee today depreciated by four paise to settle at 84 rupees and 73 paise against the US dollar. In the Indian Bullion Market, 24 Karat Gold was trading up at 77,340 rupees for 10 Grams while Silver 999 Fine, was also trading up at 94,150 rupees per kilogram. Brent Crude was trading at 71 dollars and 92 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude was trading at 68 dollars and six cents per barrel, according to the latest reports.
