The Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Mr. M. Nagaraju, said that the banking sector will play an important role in achieving the mission of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Addressing a gathering of over 200 members and guests who had assembled for the Indian Banks’ Association’s 77th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai on Monday, Mr. Nagaraju said economic growth, technological upgradation, infrastructure development, social empowerment, and sustainability are the key factors in this mission. Lauding the Indian Banks’ Association for being active and responsive toward the issues related to the banking sector, the Secretary said regular review meetings with the banks have helped improve the banks’ position to meet the growing needs of the economy.
