Bangladesh: Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar sworn in a 23rd Advisor, given charge of Education

In Bangladesh, Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, a retired Professor of Dhaka University’s International Relations (IR) Department, took oath as an adviser on Wednesday, expanding the advisory council of the interim government. President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to the new advisor at the Bangabhaban, Dhaka at 11 am. With this, the number of advisers in the interim government stands at 23. He has been given charge of the education ministry, said a Cabinet Division notification this afternoon. Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus and advisors, leaders of some political parties and other guests were present. Moreover, Sheikh Moinuddin and Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb have been appointed as special assistants to Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus. The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Wednesday stating that the chief adviser has appointed them as his special assistants with the rank of state minister. With this, five special assistants to the chief adviser remain in charge of five ministries.
