The ace Indian duo defeated Switzerland’s Aline Müller and Netherlands’ Kelly van Buiten 21-16, 21-17 in the first round. Treesa and Gayatri will now face the German pair of Selin Hubsch and Amelie Lehmann in the pre-quarterfinals tomorrow.
In other matches, two-time Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu will face Denmark’s Julie Dawall Jakobsen in the Women’s Singles first round this evening, while compatriot Malvika Bansod will take on Canada’s Michelle Li.
