Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese today announced that the country will hold general polls on the 3rd of May this year for general elections. Mr. Albanese announced this at a news conference in Parliament House after he drove to Governor-General Sam Mostyn’s official residence. In a video message, the Australian Prime Minister made several promises seeking a next term and urged voters to cast their votes.
The major fight in polls will be between Prime Minister Albanese’s centre-left Labour Party, which is seeking a second three-year term, and his key opposition leader, Peter Dutton’s conservative coalition. The key issues in Australia are high costs of living, shortage of housing and increased interest rates.
