In Badminton, India’s Aakarshi Kashyap has advanced to the Women’s singles quarter-finals of the Australian Open in Sydney. She defeated Kai Qi Teoh of Australia in straight games, 21-16, 21-13 in the round of 16.

In the mixed doubles category, Indian pair of B. Sumeeth Reddy and N. Sikki Reddy has advanced to the quarter-finals by defeating Australian pair of Kai Chen Teoh and Teoh Kai Qi in straight games.

While, Malvika Bansod suffered a narrow defeat to seventh-seeded Ester Tri Wardoyo of Indonesia, with scores of 17-21, 21-23. Anupama Upadhyaya also faced a setback, losing to Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia 11-21, 18-21.

In men’s singles, Kenta Nishimoto of Japan defeated Indian badminton player Kiran George by 22-20, 21-6.
