In the Australian Open 2025 Tennis, India’s Sumit Nagal crashed out after losing in straight sets to Czechia’s Tomas Machac in the first round of the men’s singles event at Melbourne Park yesterday. Nagal lost to his world No. 25 opponent 6-3, 6-1, 7-5 in two hours and five minutes. 27-year-old Nagal was the only Indian singles tennis player in Melbourne.

India’s doubles campaign will begin tomorrow with Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli, N.Sriram Balaji and Yuki Bhambri in action. No Indian woman cut the Australian Open this year.
