Political parties make last ditch efforts to woo the voters, as election campaign for Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly polls to end today

Today is the last day of campaigning for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Leaders of various parties are making all out efforts to gain support of the voters. Polling in the state is scheduled on 20 November and the counting of votes will be held on 23rd November.

 

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the ruling Mahayuti government has lost several projects worth 7 lakh crore rupees to other states, which could have provided 5 lakh jobs to the youth of Maharashtra.

 

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mr. Gandhi stated that employment, inflation, women’s issues, and ensuring that the wealth of Maharashtra is returned to its people are the key concerns in the upcoming assembly elections.

 

NCP(SP) chief Sharad Pawar is canvassing for his party candidates in Pune and Ahilyanagar.

 

On the other hand, BJP President J.P. Nadda is scheduled to address rallies in Belapur, Akkalkot, and Karjat. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is campaigning in Gondia and Nagpur. NCP chief Ajit Pawar is holding election rallies in Ashti, Phaltan, Indapur, and Baramati in support of its party candidates.

 

In Jharkhand, campaigning for the second phase of Assembly elections will end this evening at 5pm. Polling in this phase will be held on the 20th of this month in 38 constituencies. Star campaigners of both the NDA and the India bloc are making last-ditch efforts to woo voters in favor of their party candidates.

 

Addressing election rally at Rajmahal in Sahibganj district Senior BJP leader and UP chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured people to oust Bangladeshi infiltrators if BJP led government voted to power. He said Hemant Soren is protecting infiltrators for votebank only.

 

On the other hand Senior JMM  leader and Chief Minister Hemant Soren alleged BJP for dividing society in the name of religion. Addressing election meeting at Jamtara, Mr Soren said the BJP is misguiding people in the name of development.

 

Several BJP leaders including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Champai Soren are also addressing  campaign in support of NDA candidates.

 

Leaders from Congress, RJD, AJSU party and left-wing parties are holding rallies and roadshows in various parts of Jharkhand. The second and final phase of voting will take place on 20th of November. Counting of votes will take place for 23rd of this month.
