Assam will create history by planting one crore commercially viable saplings across the State under the Amrit Brikshya Andolan initiative within three hours duration on Sunday morning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a letter to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, praised the project for its dedication to environmental preservation and the well-being of the people.
The Prime Minister commended the efforts of Assam's Chief Minister for the launch of the 'Amrit Brikshya Andolan', an ambitious initiative aimed at planting one crore saplings across the State. Mr. Modi noted that initiatives like the Amrit Brikshya Andolan play a crucial role in advancing India's commitment to clean and green growth.
Today, attempts will be made to set three new Guinness World Records, and also to break six different existing categories of Guinness World Records. The people will take photos while planting saplings and upload them to a dedicated portal to create the biggest online photo album.
Individuals, self-help groups, frontline workers, educational institutes, and government personnel are joining the effort to plant one crore commercially viable saplings setting their sights on a place in the record books.
The State government has arranged 30 lakh saplings from the State Forest Department and purchased the rest of the saplings from other States.
