In Assam, 1.9 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 16 districts in the State. Over 400 persons are shifted to temporary relief camps in Chirang and Sonitpur districts. Due to rising water levels of the Brahmaputra river, ferry services have been temporarily suspended at Jorhat – Majuli and Guwahati and North Guwahati. One person died in Sivasagar district. SDRF teams are pressed into rescue works in different flood-affected areas.
