In Assam, Kamrup district administration has taken a unique initiative to increase voters participation in the Lok Sabha polls. The District Commissioner of Kamrup informed that over 1 lakh students wrote postcard letters to their parents and guardians appealing to vote.

Akashvani Correspondent reports that students between class 8th to 12th from 526 schools have taken part in this initiative. It is expected that in the next 15 days the post cards would reach their destinations and students along with their parents and guardians would upload their selfie .
