The Assam government will distribute 4 lakh rupees each to 1 thousand 182 former Adivashi militants this evening in Guwahati. All of them are former militants belonging to five groups namely  Adivasi Cobra Military of Assam, All Adivasi National Liberation Army, Birsa Commando Force, Adivasi People's Army, and Santhal Tiger Force. They laid down arms in July this year. Out of the total surrendered militants, a maximum of 453 cadres belong to the Adivasi Cobra Military of Assam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will hand over the cheque of 4 lakh rupees to them today.  Akashvani Correspondent reports that all five groups signed a tripartite peace accord with the Centre and the Assam government last year.
