Assam: Electioneering gaining momentum with the arrival of central leaders of different political parties

In Assam, electioneering is gaining momentum with the arrival of central leaders of the different political parties. Sources in the state BJP said that Prime Minister and senior party leader Narendra Modi, National President J P Nadda, Senior party leaders Amit Shah, Arjun Munda, and Smriti Irani among others would campaign for the NDA candidates. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Party Leader Sarbananda Sonowal are already campaigning in the state. Sources in the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee said the party has booked helicopters from the 2nd of next month onwards. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi, and state party president Bupen Bora among others will campaign for their candidates. West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee will lead the party’s campaign in Assam in the second phase. AAP, BPF, Asom Gana Parishad, and UPPL are also wooing the voters with their senior leaders. Assam will witness three phases of voting for 14 seats.
