Three out of five major Asian indices ended in negative territory today. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped over one percent, Singapore’s Straits Times index lost over 0.3 percent, and China’s Shanghai Composite index fell 0.12 percent. Conversely, South Korea’s Kospi added 0.7 percent. Meanwhile, Japan’s market was closed on account of National Foundation Day. Major European indices were trading mixed. Germany’s DAX was trading marginally up by 0.09 percent, and London’s FTSE was flat. Meanwhile, France’s CAC was trading nearly flat, with a negative bias, when reports last came in.
