Asian markets today ended mixed. Japan's Nikkei-225 gained 1.2 percent and South Korea's Kospi rose 0.6 percent. Singapore's Straits Times index and China's Shanghai Composite, both ended flat while Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.3 percent. 
 
European Markets were also mixed in intra-day trade. London's FTSE-100 climbed 1.5 percent and France's CAC-40 was up 0.3 percent Germany's DAX was trading flat.
