In Asia Cup 2023 tournament, Pakistan thrashed Nepal by 238 runs in Multan tonight. Chasing a mammoth target of 343 runs, Nepal was bowled out for just 104 runs in 23.4 overs.
 
For Pakistan, batters Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed recorded the third-highest partnership for any wicket in the history of the ODI Asia Cup. Babar smashed 151 in 131 balls while Iftikhar smashed his maiden century, ending unbeaten on 109 in 71 balls.
 
Shadab Khan scalped four wickets for Pakistan while Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf bagged two wickets each. For Nepal, Sompal Kami was the highest scorer with 28 runs off 46 balls followed by Aarif Sheikh who scored 26 runs. Nepal kept losing wickets at regular intervals and failed to impress in their first game of the tournament.
