In Asia Cup Cricket, India is to clash with arch-rivals Pakistan in a Group-A match at Pallekele, Sri Lanka tomorrow. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Indian Standard Time. The two sides last played an ODI four years ago when they faced each other at the ICC World Cup.
Rain may ruin the excitement of fans for the big clash as Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology has issued a rain red alert for a major part of the island including Kandy for tomorrow.
Pakistan is coming off a victory over Nepal which will boost its confidence. On the other hand, the full-strength Indian side is confident with the top order having shown consistent performance in recent times. With Jasprit Bumrah back in action, the bowling unit will also be something to watch for.
India and Pakistan are placed in Group A along with Nepal. In Group B, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are placed. The top two teams in each group move on to Super Fours where they will play each other. If India and Pakistan end as the table toppers, they will clash again on 10th of September at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
