Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commission today announced the By-Elections to 54 Gram Panchayat and two Zila Parishad constituencies spread over 23 districts in the state. The date of issue of Public Notice will be 9th October, the last date of filing Nomination will be 16th October, Last date of Withdrawal of Nomination will be 21st October, Date of Poll is 6th November, and the Date of counting will be 8th of next month. 

State Election Commissioner Rinchin Tashi in a press briefing in Itanagar today informed that the Model Code of Conduct has come into force with the announcement of the by-elections in the jurisdiction of the respective Zila Parishad and Gram Panchayat constituencies. Mr. Tashi said that polling will held in 73 polling stations during the By-elections and over 500 election officials will be involved excluding security personnel in the process.

The State Election Commissioner has appealed all the stakeholders to extend their full support and cooperation to the state election machineries during the entire process for a free, fair and peaceful By-election.
