Heavy and incessant rains continue to lash Arunachal Pradesh for the past few days. IMD has issued a Red alert in East Kameng, Papum Pare and Lower Dibang Valley districts. It has also issued an Orange alert for 9 districts and a yellow for the rest. A portion of the NH-415 has been washed away by a flash flood in the Karsingsa area thereby completely halting the vehicular movement along the Nirjuli-Banderdewa stretch of the highway. In view of this, the Itanagar Capital District administration has ordered the closure of the highway from Nirjuli to Banderdewa and the diversion of traffic through Gumto Road for the period till the restoration of the road.
