Arunachal Pradesh Department of Agriculture is organizing a two-day State Level Millet Mela 2023 starting from today at DK convention hall in Itanagar. Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister, Tage Taki, inaugurated the Millet Mela. Riakji Dushok, ADO cum Nodal Officer, said that as the 2023 is declared as the International Year of Millets by the United nation, the state government has chalked out an action plan for the whole year to promote Millets in the state, adding that this state-level Millet Mela is also a part of this plan. More than 500 farmers from across the state are participating in the two-day event.
Main highlights of the event are Millet Recipe Show, food stalls, exhibition cum Sale, inter District farmers’ Meet, Growers – traders interface, farmer-scientist interaction and technical session on Millet Technology. Package & practices of millets and importance and health benefits of Millet were discussed in the farmer-scientist interaction session.
