Arunachal Pradesh: CM Pema Khandu’s Address at IG Park 

Along with the rest of the nation, Arunachal Pradesh also celebrated the 78th Independence Day today. The main state function was held at IG Park Itanagar. Chief Minister Pema Khandu hoisted the national flag and took a salute from the parade. The ceremonial March past was participated by various uniformed contingents, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, and school children. Addressing the gathering the Chief Minister said that Arunachal Pradesh is more than just a geographical entity. He said it’s a promise of unity, inclusive growth and prosperity for every individual. Mr Khandu reiterated that the state’s path of development involves breaking down barriers of identity, region, tribe, creed and religion, as well as overcoming the challenges posed by its rugged terrain. Later, the Chief Secretary of the state announced the name of the State awardees and the Chief Ministers Award for excellence in Public Administration. The other attractions of the celebration were a Drone display, Tableau of Sports achievers, Para motoring, and colourful cultural programmes. Earlier today morning, the Governor of the state, Lt. Gen KT Parnaik hoisted the national flag at Raj Bhawan in Itanagar. In his address, the Governor extended greetings to the people of the state. He remarked that India’s Independence Day marks the birth of the world’s largest democracy and paid tribute to the brave sons and daughters of India who made the ultimate sacrifice to secure freedom.
