In Jammu and Kashmir, in a proactive effort to support remote communities and enhance healthcare accessibility, the Army conducted today an outreach medical drive in Dera Ki Gali area of Thanna Mandi sub division of Rajouri district. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that this initiative specifically targeted the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities residing in these far-flung areas, providing vital medical assistance and advisories at their doorsteps. The Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, often leading a nomadic lifestyle, face unique challenges accessing healthcare services due to their remote locations and seasonal migrations. Understanding these challenges, the Army organized a mobile medical camp to reach out to these communities directly. During the outreach program, a team of dedicated medical professionals and support staff from Army engaged with community members, offering essential healthcare services and expert advice. The medical drive aimed to address immediate health concerns, offer preventive care measures, and provide guidance on health-related issues before the communities undertake their routine seasonal migration to the Kashmir valley. The initiative not only demonstrates the Army’s commitment to the welfare of all sections of society but also underscores the importance of proactive healthcare interventions in remote and underserved areas.
