Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan today highlighted that India and Armenia are actively working towards establishing direct flights between the two countries. Addressing the 52nd Sapru House lecture in New Delhi, Mr Mirzoyan said that India was among the first countries to recognize the independence of Armenia in 1991. He added that through joint efforts and resolute commitment, the two nations achieved concrete results across numerous fields of mutual interest, including economy, security and defence, information and technology, education, and culture. The Armenian foreign Minister asserted that Armenia is deeply interested in advancing dialogue and cooperation with the international North-South Transport Corridor project and the Chabahar port development mission with an aim at increasing connectivity. Crediting External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for deepening bilateral ties between India and Armenia Mr. Mirzoyan said that the partnership between the two countries calls for immense promise across all dimensions.
