Anti-HPV vaccination campaign runs in Nepal successfully with awareness in society to prevent cervical cancer

The ongoing HPV vaccination drive in Nepal has shown awareness among students, parents, and teachers about the importance of administering the anti-HPV vaccine. Today, in Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathmandu, adolescent girls from classes 6 to 12 were administered the HPV vaccine after Anita Khanal, a public health officer from the Government of Nepal, along with a WHO team, shared prevention methods for HPV infections.

The HPV vaccine against cervical cancer is being administered to over one million adolescent girls in Nepal. PM K P Sharma Oli expressed gratitude to the managers, health workers, volunteers, teachers, guardians, and government and non-government agencies, among others, for their engagement in the campaign of anti-HPV vaccination. The nationwide HPV vaccination campaign that began on February 4 will run till February 18.
