After Champai Soren, another founding leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Lobin Hembrom today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mr. Hembrom is a former JMM MLA from the Borio assembly constituency. On this occasion, Jharkhand BJP Assembly Election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sharma and State BJP President Babulal Marandi were present.
Hembrom said, he joined BJP to save tribal identity and existence, which is at stake in the state’s Santhal Pargana region due to “rampant” infiltration from Bangladesh. Earlier in the Lok sabha elections, Hembrom contested as an independent candidate against the official candidate of JMM from the Rajmahal seat after the denial of ticket from JMM.
