Another Hurriyat-affiliated organization, the Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement, has rejected separatism, declaring its complete commitment to the unity of India. So far, as many as 12 Hurriyat-linked organizations have broken away from secessionism, placing their trust in the Constitution.

In a social media post, Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the move. He said that under the current government, the spirit of unity prevails in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that this is a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Last week, the Jammu-Kashmir Islamic Political Party, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and the Kashmir Freedom Front also disassociated themselves from the Hurriyat in Jammu and Kashmir.
