In the Kashmir Valley, the annual 62-days long pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji is gaining momentum with each passing day while more and more pilgrims are entering the Union Territory to undertake the Yatra and pay obeisance at the holy Cave Shrine of lord Shiva.
A batch of 4,063 Yatris left the Nunwan Base Camp early this morning towards Chandanwadi along the Yatra route via Pahalgam whereas 1,460 Yatris left from Domail via Baltal route to pay obeisance to Shri Amarnath Ji.
AIR Correspondent reports the sacred Yatra of Shri Amarnathji in south Kashmir Himalayas is going on smoothly amid tight security cover."According to reports, more than 50,000 Yatris have performed the darshan till nine this morning while on the first day of the auspicious month of Shravan yesterday, more than thirteen thousand devotees paid their obeisance of the naturally formed ice Shiv Lingam of Lord Shiva.
As per reports, the rush of pilgrims is on the increase and both the Yatra routes are agog with festivities with Yatris while returning or on the way to the holy cave are quite enthusiastic and are seen chanting "Bhum Bhum Bholey" and "Har Har Mahadev". Meanwhile, more than 3.5 lakh pilgrims have been registered online from various bank branches so far all over the country. Earlier, Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh yesterday visited Pantha Chowk Yatra Transit Camp and took stock of the security arrangements made for the Yatris. He directed the officers to make sure that the cut-off timings are adhered to and directed them to plug all the loopholes and abide by the laid down Standard Operating Procedures.
