Ministers for State Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying S.P. Singh Baghel and George Kurian today conferred the awards to the winners of the Prani Mitra and Jeev Daya Awards at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The Prani Mitra Award was given in five sub-categories, including Advocacy (Individual), Innovative Idea (Individual), and Lifetime Animal Service (Individual), as well as two awards designated for Animal Welfare Organizations and for corporate entities, Public Sector Undertakings, Government Bodies, or Cooperatives. The Jeev Daya Award has been awarded in three sub-categories, including Individual, Animal Welfare Organization, and for Schools, Institutions, Teachers, or Children. This initiative aims to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations for their remarkable contributions to animal welfare and protection. Later, speaking to the media, Mr. Baghel said that these awards raise awareness among citizens, and the awardees will also inspire other people.
