The Amrit Kalash Yatra was held in Mumbai’s M (West) ward today. Jointly organised by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Central Industrial Security Force, the walk saw a good response from citizens. Starting from Chembur’s Diamond Garden to M (west) ward office, numerous citizens came forth to contribute a handful of soil. It saw participation from the CISF unit deployed at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, students of a nearby civic school, ASHA workers and various self-help groups.
In Risod city of Washim district also, a huge number of citizens participated in the Amrit Kalash Yatra, organised under the aegis of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. Citizens participating in the march expressed a sense of gratitude and respect towards the fallen soldiers. The participants, including students, civic employees, teachers among others were greeted with patriotic songs at all crossroads.
