Amit Shah to Address Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre’s Inaugural Foundation Day

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address the first Foundation Day celebration of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) in New Delhi today. On this occasion, Mr. Shah will launch key initiatives for the protection against cybercrime and dedicate the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC) to the nation.

Mr. Shah will launch the web-based module Samanvaya, a platform for cybercrime data repository, sharing, mapping, and analytics, as well as a coordination tool for law enforcement agencies. He will also inaugurate the ‘Cyber Commandos’ program, establishing a wing of trained specialists in states/UTs and central police organizations to enhance cybersecurity. Additionally, he will unveil the Suspect Registry, a new initiative to strengthen fraud risk management by creating a registry of identifiers based on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal in collaboration with banks and financial intermediaries.

The CFMC was established at the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre in New Delhi with representatives from major banks, financial intermediaries, payment aggregators, telecom service providers, IT intermediaries, and law enforcement agencies from states and union territories (UTs). The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre was established in October 2018 under the Central Sector Scheme within the Cyber and Information Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
