Amaravati drone summit aims to boost investment in Drone Technology and support ‘Make in India’ initiative

In Andhra Pradesh, the Amaravati Drone Summit 2024 saw enthusiastic participation from entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts and policy makers in drone technology, yesterday on the inaugural day of the two-day Drone Summit being held in Amaravati. This summit aims to spur investment in Drone Technology in Andhra Pradesh and give impetus to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Make in India’.

 

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu announced allocation of 300 acres of land in Orvakallu, Kurnool District, for the development of a drone hub. He also announced a plan to train 35,000 drone pilots in Andhra Pradesh, positioning the state as a human resource hub for drone technology. Delivering the keynote address, Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu said “This is the biggest and first of its kind summit regarding drones that is happening outside the National Capital territory of Delhi. We want the young minds of this country to develop new type of drones so that we can cater to the solutions that are indigenous to the country.  We liberalized Drone Rules of 2021 so that the operation of drones can be increased, more R&D, more investment can come into drone technology and on top of that we have launched the PLI scheme for the drone industry and we have catered up to 120 crores”.

 

The summit also featured India’s largest drone show with over 5000 drones which made five Guinness world records. The second day of the summit today will feature panel discussions and keynote presentations on drone technology.
