All schools & colleges closed in Himachal Pradesh today due to inclement weather

In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains have battered normal life since Sunday, triggering landslides in Shimla's Summer Hill, Krishna Nagar, and Fagli. A Government official said .rescue operations are going on in the rain-affected areas. In Himachal Pradesh, the pattern of continuous rainfall that had been ongoing for the past five days has finally subsided, bringing relief to the people. However, incidents of landslides are still occurring in various places. Yesterday, a significant loss occurred due to a landslide in Krishnanagar, Shimla. So far, two bodies have been recovered from there. Due to concerns about others being trapped, rescue operations were initiated from early morning today. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhhu visited the incident site in Krishnanagar yesterday evening, assessed relief and rescue efforts, and assured affected individuals of all possible assistance. During the ongoing rescue campaign in the Shiv Baradi Temple area of Summerhill, Shimla, another body was recovered today, raising the total count to 13.

In the Kangra district, rescue operations are being conducted at war footing to rescue people trapped in Indaura and Fatehpur. Deputy Commissioner Nipun Jindal said that a total of 766 individuals have been safely evacuated from both areas so far. Essential services such as electricity and water supply have been disrupted in many parts of the state. Due to frequent landslides in different areas, people are also struggling with traffic jams.  According to the latest information, 698 connectivity roads, and 4 national highways are blocked in the state.
