All necessary arrangements made for free and fair voting in Gujarat

All necessary arrangements have been made for the free and fair voting in Gujarat tomorrow. Voting will be held for 25 Lok Sabha seats and five assembly seats of the state tomorrow. Polling parties are being dispatched to their respective polling stations today. Special arrangements including sheds, medical aid and drinking water have been set up at the polling stations in view of the heat wave warning.

Meanwhile, 11 special polling stations have been set up in the remotest parts of the state to ensure no voter is left behind.

From the depths of the Gir forest to remote and inaccessible islands, and areas with limited transportation, the election machinery in Gujarat has established as many as 11 special polling stations for the convenience of voters. In Banej, located deep within the Gir forest, a polling station has been erected solely for one voter, a mahant of Shiva Temple. A designated polling station has been arranged in a tent at the Nes area of the Gir forest, catering to just 42 voters who are native to Saap Nes Billia. Three other polling stations have been set up for Siddhi community people, who are the descendants of East African people and migrated to India in 13th century. Similarly, one polling station has been set up in a shipping container at Alia Bet, a small island near Bharuch and one within the Kadana Dam reservoir. Furthermore, five polling stations have been constructed to serve the residents of Shiyal Bet, an isolated island in the Arabian Sea near Amreli.
