All India contest for authors to promote book culture

The Ministry of Education is conducting an All India Contest for authors under the Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors (PM-YUVA 3.0). A total of 50 authors will be selected through the contest being conducted at the My Gov website till the 10th of April. This scheme aims to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country. The received proposals will be evaluated by the Department of Higher Education in April this year.
As part of this scheme, the selected young and budding authors below the age of 30 will receive training and mentorship. Under the mentorship, a National Camp will also be held for the PM-YUVA 3.0 Authors during the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026.
The launch of PM-YUVA 3.0 (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to encourage the youth to understand and appreciate India’s rich culture, heritage and contribution of visionaries to the country’s development and growth. It aims to cultivate a new generation of writers who can articulate the contributions of the Indian diaspora in nation-building.
