All India Congress National President Mallikarjuna Kharge announced poll promises in Bengaluru on Saturday. Addressing media persons in the presence of party state President D K Shivakumar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he said that ‘Shramik Nyay’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ will be among the assurances given by the Congress to its electorate. Mallikarjuna Kharge said 15 guarantees will be announced by the party as part of its manifesto during the Lok Sabha elections and what he announced on Saturday were the fourth and fifth guarantees. The party has already announced Kisan Nyay, Yuva Nyay and Woman Nyay. Shramik Nyay assures the working class of free medical care, increases payment under MGNREGS to Rs 400 per day, introduces the employment guarantee scheme in urban areas too and to provide life insurance to the workers.

Mr. Kharge said that under Bhagedari Nyay, the Congress on the formation of the Government in Delhi will conduct caste census and distribute resources at par with the population representation, increase the reservation limit beyond 50 per cent and give forest rights to tribals. The tribal tradition will be protected and self-governance of the Tribal habitations will be introduced.
