All arrangements are in place for the Tripura East Parliamentary Constituency where the polling will be held on Friday. There are more than 13.96 lakh eligible voters in the constituency who will be exercising their right to franchise.
The interesting feature of this constituency is that there are more than 16 thousand Bru-Reang voters, who were displaced from Mizoram and have been residing mainly in Dhalai, north Tripura and parts of South Tripura districts.
Due to prevailing heatwave conditions all preventive measures have been taken by the election department. The department has setup sheds for the electors at each and every polling station who would be standing in queue. Besides, adequate drinking water will be facilitated to the electorates.
Heightened security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident at the polling stations.
