Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Sehgal has said, that Akashvani has always played a major role in connecting people with the country’s culture and takes its responsibility as a public broadcaster very seriously. In his message on the final day of Mahakumbh, Mr Sehgal said, that throughout its 48-day broadcast, Akashvani’s Kumbhvani channel touched a lot of people. He added that the channel was able to share the experience of Mahakumbh even with those who could not come to Prayagraj. Mr Sehgal also highlighted the spirit of unity in diversity showcased during the Mahakumbh and said, it has been reflected in Akashvani’s broadcast where listeners range from the common people to pilgrims, saints and akhadas.

Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi commended the efforts of Akashwani’s Kumbhwani channel in its coverage of the Mahakumbh. He noted that Akashwani fulfilled its role as a public service broadcaster by providing real-time news, interviews, and special programs through Kumbhwani. Mr Dwivedi remarked that both the Mahakumbh and Kumbhwani journeys are unforgettable and hold a divine place in the hearts of millions.

In her message on the occasion, Director General of Akashvani, Dr Pragya Paliwal Gaur acknowledged the success of Kumbhwani in reaching a large audience in a short period. She highlighted the team’s efforts in delivering continuous programming on the Kumbhwani channel. She further added that both the Mahakumbh and Kumbhwani have had a significant impact on people’s lives.
