The air quality in Delhi-NCR has deteriorated to the severe category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 439 at 7 PM this evening. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Delhi and NCR are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours over the next 2-3 days. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI in some parts of the city continues to remain at severe levels. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 467; Rohini recorded 458; Ashok Vihar 472; R K Puram 460; Vivek Vihar 470; and Punjabi Bagh recorded an AQI of 459. The city also witnessed a thick layer of smog this morning.
