IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari says Balakot like operations have shown that given the political will, aerospace power can be effectively used beyond enemy lines

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari has said that Balakot like operations have shown that given the political will, aerospace power can be effectively carried out beyond enemy lines. Mr. Chaudhari said this in his inaugural address at the 15th Jumbo Majumdar International Seminar on Aerospace Power in Future Conflicts in New Delhi today. He said, militarisation and weaponisation of space has become an inevitable reality as nations increasingly rely on space-based assets for building strategic advantage. He said, air and space control along with denial capabilities will prove to be decisive for furtherance of all operations. The Air Chief highlighted that blockchain and artificial intelligence could make existing weapons and inventories redundant. He said, to be able to fight in such an environment there is a need to reimagine, realign and reform.

On the occasion, a book titled ‘Indian Air Force and Integration of Armed Forces’ was released by the Chief of Air Staff. Every year, the Centre for Airpower Studies organizes a seminar in memory of Wing Commander KK Majumdar, who was instrumental in laying the solid foundation of the Indian Air Force. KK Majumdar was twice decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC).
