Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar informed the Lok Sabha that more than two lakh sixty thousand lakh crore rupees have been disbursed to over 11 crore farmers families under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) so far. In a written reply, he said PM-KISAN is a central scheme and its aim is to provide financial assistance to cultivable landholding farmer families across the country. Mr Tomar said under the scheme an amount of six thousand rupees is transferred annually in three equal instalments of two thousand rupees.
