Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over 5200 crore rupees at Chhota Udepur in Gujarat today. These projects include school infrastructure projects worth over 4500 crore rupees under the programme ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’. The Prime Minster will also preside over a function marking the two decades of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

President Droupadi Murmu is arriving in Madhya Pradesh today on a day-long visit to felicitate the winners of the fourth edition of the India Smart Cities Award Contest. The President will participate in various programs to be held in Indore and Jabalpur.
"President Mrs Draupadi Murmu will present the India Smart City Award 2022 to selected cities of the country today during the India Smart City Conclave held in Indore. This competition is being organized by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development since 2018 under the Smart City Mission. Representatives of all 100 smart cities will be present in this conclave. The Smart City Award aims to promote urban innovation and provide a platform for excellent work. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has said, the days when a few nations set the agenda and expected others to fall in line are over. Delivering National Statement at the General Debate of the 78th session of United Nations General Assembly in New York, Dr Jaishankar said, political convenience cannot determine responses to terrorism, extremism and violence.
The Minister said, the United Nations should make Security Council contemporary, and emphasised that broad representation is a prerequisite for both effectiveness and credibility. He said India seeks to promote cooperation with diverse partners. He said that from the era of non-alignment, India has now evolved to a 'Vishwa Mitra - a friend to the world'.
The International Finance Corporation has lauded the efforts of India in tackling the impact of climate change by taking proactive policy measures to support green financing initiatives. According to the Blended Finance for Climate Investments report, India has significantly developed its climate actions, resulting in a path to achieving its Nationally Determined Contribution well before 2030. It said, it is the only G20 nation in line with two degrees warming compared to its fair share contribution to climate action.
The report states that Reserve Bank of India included the small Renewable Energy energy sector under its priority sector lending scheme in 2015. Since the issuance of Green Bonds, India has developed the second largest green bonds market among emerging economies.
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari has said that electric buses are very popular and the government is planning to make electric highway from Delhi to Jaipur. He said this while addressing the 20th Indo-US Economic Summit in New Delhi.
Mr Gadkari also said, that Indo-US economic summit has a lot of potential where both the countries can work towards new joint ventures. He said India and the US can mutually share technology which will further aid in development of the two countries. Mr Gadkari also gave away the 7th Business Leadership Awards.

A CBI team will arrive in Imphal today to investigate the kidnapping and killing of two students who went missing in Manipur on July the 6th. The decision was taken within hours of the case being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation by the Manipur government. In post on X, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said both the state and central governments are closely working together to nab the perpetrators. He said, to further expedite this crucial investigation, the CBI Director, along with a specialised team, will be arriving this morning in a special flight. Mr Singh said, their presence underscores the commitment of authorities to swiftly resolve this matter.
In Kerala, the district authorities in Kozhikode have withdrawn all restrictions imposed in areas declared containment zones following Nipah infections. District Collector A Geetha issued an order to this effect, withdrawing restrictions imposed in seven wards of Kozhikode Corporation and in Feroke Municipality. Educational institutions in these areas will resume normal functioning from today.
Meanwhile, State Health Minister Veena George said Kozhikode will be declared Nipah-free only if no new positive cases were reported for 42 days and hence public should continue to exercise caution till the 26th of next month. The authorities have advised public to continue social distancing and use of masks and sanitisers.

Under the “District as Export Hub Scheme” at least 75 products have been enlisted from 20 district, which have a huge potential of exports in the International markets.
In Iraq, at least 100 people were killed and 150 injured in a fire at a wedding celebration in Hamdaniya district of Nineveh province last night. The toll is expected to rise. The fire ripped through a large events hall in the north-eastern region after fireworks were lit during the celebration. Preliminary information indicated that the building was made of highly flammable construction materials, contributing to its rapid collapse.
