The protesting wrestlers led by Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik have reached the residence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur in New Delhi for talks. Mr Thakur invited them for a discussion to resolve their issues. In a tweet, Mr Thakur said that the government is willing to have a discussion with the wrestlers on their issues. The wrestlers are protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, demanding his arrest as some women wrestlers have accused him of sexually harassing them. Few days back, Home Minister Amit Shah also met a delegation of protesting wrestlers. The Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against Singh.
The CBI is conducting raids in twenty places in Kolkata in connection with alleged municipality recruitment scam. The alleged scam relates to irregularities in the recruitment of clerks, sweepers, peons, and drivers, in various municipalities in West Bengal. The Supreme Court on Friday declined urgent hearing of an appeal filed by the West Bengal government challenging a Calcutta High Court order refusing to grant interim stay on the investigation being conducted by the CBI and ED in the alleged municipality recruitment scam.
The National Investigation Agency yesterday raided several premises connected with associates of the Canada-based individual designated terrorist in Punjab and Haryana. The raids were conducted a day after the NIA Special Court in Mohali, declared Arshdeep Singh Dala a Proclaimed Offender in a targeted killing conspiracy case. The searches were conducted at 10 locations at the premises of associates of Dala and his close aide and absconder, Manpreet Singh alias Peeta. He is currently living in the Philippines in a case registered suo moto by NIA on 20th August last year. Several incriminating material, including digital devices, were seized during the raids. A total of six accused have so far been arrested in the case.
The case relates to the terror activities of proscribed terrorist organisations, such as Khalistan Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa International, International Sikh Youth Federation, Khalistan Tiger Force and other.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah reviewed progress of computerisation of office of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) in New Delhi. Since its formation in July 2021, the Ministry of Cooperation has taken number of steps to promote ease of doing business in Cooperative Sector. As part of these initiatives, the Office of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies is being computerised to create a digital ecosystem for Multi State Cooperative Societies to facilitate all their activities, including Registration of new societies. A software and portal is being developed to be launched by 26th of this month.
Mr Shah directed that youth should also be involved for better utilisation and improved analytics of the portal through competitions to be organised by CRCS office.

Today, we take a look at the Indian Space Research Organisation, ISRO's successful a sub orbital launch of Vikram - S in November, last year. The sounding rocket of the Skyroot Aerospace Private limited marked the first launch of a launch vehicle by a private partner. Sub orbital rockets have a flight path that is less than one complete orbit of the earth.More from our Correspondent:
"Vikram S reached an altitude of about 89.5 km in 155 seconds as planned. This sounding rocket had three payloads. Vikram S was developed by a space start up called Skyroot Aerospace . It is a single stage spin stabilised solid propellant rocket with a mass of 550 kilogram. The six metre long Vikram S rocket carried three payloads of Chennai based start up Space Kidz , Andhra Pradesh based N-Space Tech and Armenian Bazoom Q Space Research Lab.
Skyroot was the first start-up to sign an MOU with ISRO for launching its rockets. Apart from being the Country's private launch, it is the maiden mission of skyroot Aerospace named Parambh. This is a major milestone in the journey of ISRO after PM Narendra Modi had unlocked the space sector in India two years ago for private participation. Skyroot was formed in July 2018 by former ISRO scientists Pawan Kumar Chandana, Naga Bharath Daka through the support of Vasudevan Gnanagandhi. The mission was authorised IN-SPACe, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre.The company aims to develop and launch its own series of small lift launch vehicles especially crafted for the small satellite market. It is observed to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture and sustainable development. The day also provides an opportunity to strengthen efforts to ensure that the food we eat is safe, mainstream food safety in the public agenda and reduce the burden of foodborne diseases globally. This year the theme of World Food Safety Day is - Food standards save lives.
On occasion, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will release the State Food Safety Index in New Delhi today. The Index is an annual assessment released by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, FSSAI. Mr Mandaviya will also interact with Scientific panels constituted by FSSAI. They will underline the government’s commitment to evidence-based decision-making, scientific risk assessment and the pursuit of food safety standards.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today said, in the next five years, India will have 200-220 more airports, heliports and water aerodromes. Mr Scindia said now there are 14 greenfields airports in the country.
Addressing media in New Delhi on the completion of nine years of the government Mr Scindia said that the Indian Civil Aviation is the third largest aviation sector in the world.
Speaking about the growth of domestic air traffic, Mr Scindia informed that the number of domestic passengers which was only 6 crore in 2013-24 ,has now increased to 14.50 crore registering a growth of 130 percent in the last nine years. He said, the number international air traffic also increased by 50 per cent to 7 crore passengers. The Minister said, the number of airports and heliports which were only 74 in 68 years after the independence, the number in the last nine years reached 148.

The deep depression has intensified into the Cyclonic Storm “Biparjoy” over eastcentral and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea. The cyclone is moving nearly northwards and is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours. It lays about 910 km west-southwest of Goa and 1030 km southwest of Mumbai.
Talking to AKASHVANI News, IMD spokesperson R K Jenamani said the system is far away from the coast, but Fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into sea for deep sea fishing.
