Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express train from Dehradun to Delhi through video conferencing today. This will be the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand. On the occasion, the Prime Minster also inaugurated the newly electrified rail line sections in Uttarakhand. With this, the state now have its entire rail route 100 percent electrified.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi said, Uttarakhand is getting its first Vande Bharat Express train today from Dehradun to Delhi. He said, the train will reduce the travelling time of the people.

President Draupadi Murmu today interacted with tribal women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in a conference organized by Tribal Affairs Ministry at Khunti in Jharkhand. Speaking at the event, the President praised the efforts of tribal women who have scripted new success stories through active participation program in SHGs. She said, tribal women have become more empowered than women of other states.

Addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry annual session in New Delhi, Power Minister R K Singh said, country's per capita energy consumption and per capita carbon emission are one of lowest in the world. He said net zero is important but what is more important is that there is a need to provide enough electricity to make sure that the country does not run short of power when one wants to set up an industry. He added that it is non negotiable. He asserted there will be no compromise on ensuring round the clock energy supply even though it is a challenge.
India is striving to eliminate Tuberculosis from the country by 2025, five years ahead of the global Sustainable Development Goal. This was stated by Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya while addressing the Quad Plus Side Event on Tuberculosis during the 76th World Health Assembly in Geneva. He said that India is the only country in the world to have developed its own mechanism for estimating its TB burden. He added that the country has witnessed a 13 percent reduction in TB incidents from 2015 to 2022, surpassing the global reduction rate of 10 percent.
The Minister also said that TB mortality in India has decreased by 15 percent during the same period, compared to the global reduction rate of 5.9 percent. He said that by employing a mathematical model based on local evidence, the country can now determine the true burden of the disease well ahead of the annual World Health Organization report.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that the Sceptre gifted by Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam will be sanctified by 20 adheenams from the State and will be placed near the seat of the Lok Sabha Speaker in the New Parliament building on the 28th of this month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The second G20 meeting of Anti Corruption Working Group under India's Presidency began at Narendranagar in Tehri district of Uttarakhand today. About 90 representatives of G-20 countries are participating in the meeting. During the meeting the representatives will deliberate on the topic “International Anti-Corruption Mechanism”. Addressing media persons, Union Minister of State for Defense and Tourism Ajay Bhatt said, the ideas emanating from the meeting will show the way to the world in the fight against corruption. He stated that the fight against corruption needs to be taken as an international campaign for cooperation on a global label.
In the United States, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has officially declared his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President of the country. DeSantis rolled out the news with a campaign video and a glitch-riddled hour-long live interview on Twitter with the owner of the social media site, Elon Musk.
