Prime Minister Narendra Modi urges people to take precautions in view of rising COVID -19 cases. Addressing the nation in the 99th episode of his Mann Ki Baat programme on All India Radio today, Mr. Modi reminded that cases of Corona are rising in some places.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also urged people to come forward for organ donation. Mr. Modi said, a large number of needy people are waiting for organ donors. He noted that in India, selfless charity, also known as Parmarth, has been placed so high that people do not hesitate to donate their all for the happiness of others. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that his Government is working on a uniform policy in the country for organ donation.
Touching upon the subject of renewable energy, Mr. Modi said that the speed with which India is moving forward in the field of solar energy is a big achievement.
Speaking about the festivals that are being observed, the Prime Minister said the holy month of Ramzan has begun. The auspicious festival of Ram Navami is also going to be celebrated in the next few days. Mr Modi said Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday and Easter will also be observed soon. Mr Modi mentioned a number of women achievers on the occasion of Navratri. He said women power has a big role in the New India that is emerging.
Mr Modi looked back at the journey Mann Ki Baat has covered so far, saying that Mann Ki Baat has reached its ninety-ninth distinction. He expressed happiness that there is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of the country regarding the hundredth episode of Mann Ki Baat on the 30th of April.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched or initiated several development projects in Bidar and Raichur in North Karnataka today. In Raichur, the Home Minister initiated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over 4223 crore rupees. Most of these projects are related to drinking water and irrigation canals. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shah said that the double engine government at the Centre and State has benefitted Karnataka. He said, the State Government has sanctioned 5000 crore rupees for the development of the backward regions. He noted that the poor families have received a five kgs free ration. Raichur will soon be connected by air with the new airport coming up here, informed Mr. Shah. The Home Minister stated that the Indian economy is doing well by growing from the 11th to the fifth biggest economy in the world.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur today flagged off the first Indigo Airline Delhi-Dharamshala-Delhi flight in New Delhi. Indigo airline will operate daily flights on this route.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Thakur expressed his gratitude towards the Ministry of Civil Aviation for facilitating Indigo connectivity to Himachal Pradesh. He said, this flight will benefit half of the State population. He added that Indigo could not have become a truly national airline without flying to the Hill State.
Mr. Thakur credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rapid expansion of airport infrastructure in the country. He said the number has gone from 74 to over 140 in a short span of time. He further said that it is due to the UDAN scheme that the people in Hawai Chappal can travel in Hawai Jahaz.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia said that what was not achieved in the past 65 years in the field of civil aviation, has been achieved in the last 9 years with the creation of 148 airports, waterdrome and heliports. He stressed that his Ministry is working towards a target of taking this number to beyond 200 within the next three to four years. The Civil Aviation Minister added that the second phase plan for expansion of Dharamshala airport is underway, which aims to eventually land Airbus a320. At present, 44 routes have been provided to the State of Himachal under the UDAN scheme, out of which 22 are already operational.
