Prime Minister Narendra Modi and and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated the over 130-kilometre long, energy pipeline, between Bangladesh and India through video conferencing today. It is the first ever cross-border energy pipeline between the two countries, built at an estimated cost of 377 crore rupees.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, the opening of the India-Bangladesh Friendship pipeline, to carry High Speed Diesel from West Bengal’s Siliguri to Bangladesh’s Parbatipur, marks the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.
Mr Modi said, the pipeline has the capacity to supply one million metric ton per annum of High Speed Diesel to 7 northern districts of Bangladesh which will immensely benefit agriculture and the local industry by providing a cheap and dependable source of energy.
The Prime Minister said, the Pipeline will enhance cooperation in energy security between India and Bangladesh. He highlighted the growing energy cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi expressed hope that the pipeline will further accelerate the growth of Bangladesh and it will be a great example of growing connectivity between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the trans-border pipeline will play a key role in ensuring energy security in Bangladesh as many countries are facing a crisis in energy supply due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict .
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today emphasised that top analysts, thinkers, and economists of the world are all saying that this is India's moment. Speaking at the India Today Conclave in New Delhi, Mr Modi stressed that in the 21st century, this period for India is unprecedented. He said India is tackling unprecedented circumstances and creating a global example.
Mr Modi said that in the last 75 days, India got the Green Budget, the Shivamogga airport, the longest river cruise, expressways, Vande Bharat express along with 20 percent ethanol blending. He pointed out that the list of achievements in just 75 days is a reflection of the India Moment.
India today hosted the Ministerial Round Table of leading millet producing countries to chalk out strategies for enhancing production and consumption the world over. Ministers from Guyana, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Zambia and high-level delegates from Gambia, Maldives and Nigeria attended the meet at Delhi. In his opening Remarks at the Ministerial Round Table, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar urged for greater cooperation among millets producing countries. He highlighted India's role in Shree Anna promotion, being the largest producer and second largest exporter of millets in the world. He said that in the last five years, India has produced millets in the range of 13.71 to 18.02 million tonnes.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said, the new education policy focuses not only on the accessibility of education and empowerment but also on cultural and nationalist education. Addressing the convocation ceremony of Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, Mr. Shah urged young students to rise above the language complex and work for the development of their nation. He also stressed the importance of the mother tongue in expression. The Minister also recalled the impeccable contribution of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad towards women empowerment, education, and social agricultural development during British rule.
Mr. Shah also virtually inaugurated the newly built Maharaja Rajnjitsinh Institute of Design on the occasion.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said the Narendra Modi government is making all efforts to explore and harness the ocean resources and give priority to the Blue Economy of India. He added that these ocean resources had never been explored before in the past. The Minister was talking to a high level delegation led by Union Minister, Shripad Yesso Naik and Goa State Tourism Minister, Rohan Khaunte. The delegation called on him to discuss the various potential projects to promote tourism and ocean related economy in Goa.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 256 development projects and laid the foundation stone of 96 development works worth 1450 crore rupees in Lucknow today. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singh said, law and order is the first condition for development and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has worked very well on that. The Defence Minister said, the foundation stone for the first phase of Green Corridor, linking western and eastern parts of the city, has been laid today.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Green Corridor project will provide a permanent solution to the traffic problem in Lucknow.

Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today said there is no need to form a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Adani issue. Talking to media at Chittorgarh in Rajasthan, the Union Minister said, the Supreme Court has formed a committee to investigate the matter. On the issue of announcement of 19 new districts in Rajasthan by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Mr Shekhawat alleged that it is only for electoral gains.
Punjab Government has suspended mobile internet services, all SMS services (except banking & mobile recharge) and all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except the voice call, in the state till tomorrow. An order issued by the Department of Home Affairs and Justice says that certain sections of society are likely to threaten public order by incitement to violence endangering human life and property. It says some sections of society were using social media platforms for spreading inflammatory material and rumours.
In Pakistan, former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s arrest warrants in the Toshakhana case were cancelled by Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal after permitting him to go back after marking his attendance outside the Islamabad Judicial Complex. The hearing was adjourned till 30th of March due to the turbulence and chaos witnessed. Judge Zafar Iqbal stated that the hearing and appearance cannot take place in the current situation due to the ongoing hostilities between Islamabad Police and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers outside the Judicial Complex.
Intense clashes broke out between PTI supporters and police as Imran Khan's convoy reached the judicial complex.Meanwhile, the PTI claimed the law enforcers were restricting the party chairman's movement.
Earlier, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority restricted live coverage of events outside the Islamabad Judicial Complex.

In Women's Premier League Cricket, UP Warriorz defeated Mumbai Indians by five wickets at DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. Chasing a target of 128 runs, UP Warriorz overhauled the score, posting 129 for the loss of five wickets in 19.3 overs. Earlier, put in to bat, Mumbai Indians posted 127 for the loss of 10 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. UP Warriorz had won the toss and opted to field.
